The Malta Business Registry has announced that its CEO and Registrar Geraldine Spiteri Lucas has been elected as the Interim President Elect of the Corporate Registers Forum, an international association of corporate registries.

She will formally assume the role on 24th July, succeeding Louise Smyth who served as CEO of Companies House and will be retiring in August after her service to the CRF and the international registry community.

On her social channel, Dr Spiteri Lucas wrote that she is “grateful for the trust and support of my colleagues, and I commit to serving with dedication and integrity in the months ahead until the next presidential election.”

Dr Spiteri Lucas graduated in Doctor of Laws from the University of Malta in 2010 and few months later obtained her warrant to practice in the Maltese Courts. She read for a Masters in European and Comparative Law, graduating in 2012. She started her career with a leading local law firm, advising local and international clients on civil, commercial, corporate, shipping and aviation law.

She is also a member of the board of examiners for the Department of Commercial Law of the University of Malta.
