Fourth-year law students from the University of Malta are set to represent Malta in a prestigious moot court competition in London this weekend.
Following their victory in Malta’s Crime 101 criminal law moot court contest, Thomas Cilia and George Borg, both in their fourth year of law studies at the University of Malta, have earned the opportunity to compete on an international stage.
The duo will take part in COMMOOT, a high-level moot court competition hosted by ELSA UK (European Law Students’ Association).
Set to be held at the University of Westminster, COMMOOT will see Mr Cilia and Mr Borg go head-to-head with law students from various European universities. Unlike their previous competition, which focused on criminal law, this event will challenge participants with contract law cases, requiring them to present legal arguments, interpret case law, and apply legal principles in a simulated courtroom setting.
The competition provides a platform for students to refine their legal reasoning and argumentation skills in a professional environment.
