Messaging solutions provider Fortytwo is marking its 25th anniversary with a continued focus on sustainable growth, technological investment and the development of its people, while exploring new opportunities in AI automation and smart communication.
“Success means maintaining our level of service, scaling the business sustainably by investing in technology, and developing our people. This is what has worked for us in the past and this is what we will continue to do,” says Fortytwo Head of Operations, Joe Cocchiara.
Founded in Sweden in 2001, Fortytwo was established to provide messaging solutions across multiple territories before relocating its operations to Malta in 2010. Since then, the company has continued to expand its international customer base.
“Success is not just about getting bigger, but about becoming stronger as a business, and continuing to be the messaging partner of choice, a partner our customers can trust and a company our employees can be proud of,” Mr Cocchiara says.
He describes the company’s approach as one centred on “innovation, new products and services, whilst keeping the team happy and engaged.”
Like many businesses operating in Malta, Fortytwo continues to face challenges in attracting and retaining talent. Mr Cocchiara believes, however, that the company’s culture has played an important role in building a stable and committed workforce.
“Finding the right people is always a challenge, but our low staff turnover and ability to attract great people reflect the environment we’ve built,” he says.
As technology continues to evolve at an unprecedented pace, Fortytwo is identifying significant opportunities in areas such as AI automation and smart communication.
“These tools are already helping us become more efficient and customers get a better service,” Mr Cocchiara notes.
He believes Fortytwo’s willingness to embrace change will remain one of its key strengths.
Mr Cocchiara has been part of Fortytwo since 2014, when he joined the company to lead its Customer Support team. Over the years, he has taken on a number of leadership responsibilities, including within human resources, before becoming Head of Operations.
Fortytwo recently brought its team together to celebrate 25 years of operations, providing an opportunity to reflect on the company’s journey while looking towards the opportunities ahead.
The anniversary event also recognised employees who have dedicated 10 years or more to the company, highlighting the importance Fortytwo places on long-term commitment and its people as it enters its next chapter.
