David Xuereb is to be appointed Chairman of the Occupational Health and Safety Organisation (OHSA), a Government statement announced on Thursday.

A graduate of the University of Malta and various universities within the UK, Perit Xuereb has led established companies and has been trusted with major projects both in Malta and abroad.

Over the years, he has also been highly active in the areas of sustainable design and the green economy and has taught and been asked to give presentations at several universities and institutions, with a particular focus on sustainability, the environment and climate change.

In March 2021, Perit Xuereb ended his two-year term as President of The Malta Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry. Currently, he is also a Director of Malta Enterprise and of the Building and Construction Authority that was recently set up.

Perit Xuereb will be taking over from Manuel Mallia, who has now been approved to be Malta’s High Representative in the UK.

The Government thanked Dr Mallia for his work and wished him luck on his new role.
