Nominations have opened for the third edition of the Malta Tourism Awards, which will take place on 11th May 2027.

Organised by the Malta Tourism Authority (MTA), the awards aim to recognise and celebrate excellence across Malta’s tourism industry and encourage businesses and workers to raise the bar.

The third edition introduces four main areas of recognition: the Responsible Tourism Development Award, the Tourism Worker of the Year Award, Special Theme Recognition, and, for the first time, Gozo Tourism Awards Recognition.

Each year, the Special Theme Recognition focuses on a specific tourism niche, and next year’s award will focus on Faith & Religious Tourism, recognising initiatives undertaken between 2024 and 2026.

“The Malta Tourism Awards are an opportunity to recognise the people and businesses that are contributing to the quality and development of Malta’s tourism industry,” MTA CEO Carlo Micallef said.

“Tourism is constantly evolving, and raising standards requires continued investment, innovation and a strong commitment to our people, our communities and our destination.”

“Through these Awards, we want to shine a light on the work being carried out across the industry and encourage more stakeholders to embrace excellence, sustainability and responsible growth.”

Leslie Vella, MTA’s Deputy CEO and Chief Officer for Strategic Development, said the awards are an opportunity to recognise businesses and individuals who are contributing to the development of Malta’s tourism industry and to highlight the initiatives and achievements that are helping to raise standards across the sector.

Nominations can be submitted online until 31st January 2027.
