A new, homegrown delivery platform, Buzz, is set to be launched in Malta next month.
Buzz hopes to develop into the country’s next big delivery platform, following in the footsteps of Bolt and Wolt, which have exploded in popularity in recent years.
A Buzz representative told WhosWho.mt that the platform will be similar in scope to the likes of Bolt and Wolt, connecting customers to restaurants and stores.
Couriers will be self-employed or employed by a fleet, although the platform isn’t ruling out employing its own delivery drivers in the future.
Although Wolt and Bolt have become synonymous with the local food delivery scene, Buzz has some ideas on how to penetrate the market.

The representative said Buzz will offer restaurants more competitive commission rates, while also introducing prizes for users who order through the platform.
Moreover, the platform plans to introduce a 24/7 customer support system, staffed by human agents rather than chatbots, with assistance available in both English and Maltese.
Buzz is currently in discussions with restaurants and retail outlets as it begins onboarding partners to the platform, with a public launch planned for March.
Bolt recently revealed statistics that shed light on the extent of demand for its food delivery services in Malta.
Their couriers have delivered over 4.1 million burgers since launching its food delivery service six years ago, an average of 683,333 burgers a year or 1,872 a day.
Bolt couriers have also delivered over 3.4 million pizzas – an average of 566,667 a year or 1,553 a day.
