Eight years after launching its cab service, and six after rolling out food delivery, Bolt has revealed some staggering stats about its journey in Malta so far.

According to Bolt’s numbers, their couriers have delivered over 4.1 million burgers since launching its food delivery service six years ago. That’s an average of 683,333 burgers a year or 1,872 a day.

Bolt couriers have also delivered over 3.4 million pizzas – an average of 566,667 a year or 1,553 a day.

These figures reflect only Bolt’s data, numbers from Wolt and direct restaurant deliveries would push the totals even higher.

Unsurprisingly, Saturday is the most popular day for food delivery while 7:30pm is the peak time for orders.

The largest single order ever placed on Bolt Food in Malta amounted to €992.

Other Bolt stats show that, since launching in Malta eight years ago, its cabs have collectively travelled the equivalent of circling the Earth over 12,000 times, or 600 round trips to the Moon.

Meanwhile, Bolt has provided over 3,400 free rides to blood donors.

Reflecting on the numbers, Bolt General Manager Ryan Mahoney said that Malta has become one of Bolt’s most penetrated markets worldwide.

"Honestly, that makes me incredibly proud,” he said.

Mr Mahoney said the numbers reflect individual moments, such as late nights, airport runs, first dates, busy Friday evenings, and voluntary donations.

He added that, as Bolt grew its business, it made sure to integrate and give back to the community.

“We became the first and only ride-hailing platform fully available in Maltese,” he recounted.

“We brought Bolt Plus, the first loyalty subscription spanning across both delivery and rides. We were the first to introduced 100 per cent electric accessible vehicles to ensure no one is left behind.”

“We partnered with organisations like IOM - UN Migration to support better integration. We supported Puttinu Cares Foundation, Animal Welfare volunteers, JA Malta Foundation, and many more.”

“On a small island, you feel the impact faster. You also feel the responsibility more deeply. To our drivers, couriers, restaurant partners, team members and customers: Thank You.”

“Malta may be small on the map. But the community spirit here is anything but.”
