Premier Capital plc, the company responsible for Hili Ventures’ McDonald’s business, registered a pre-tax profit of €10,921,905 during the first half of 2026.
This is a decrease of €8.3 million from the comparable results of the first half of 2025, with the group citing three issues which strained profitability during the period, despite an increase in revenue.
The group is engaged in the operations of McDonald’s restaurants in Estonia, Greece, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta and Romania.
Firstly, it said that the group incurred one-time adverse impacts from the closure of two restaurants amounting to €3 million. Secondly, compared with the first half of 2025, the first half of this year saw a weaker Romanian Leu against the Euro.
“The EUR/RON rate increased from levels around 5.0 in the prior year to above 5.2 following the May 2026 devaluation, resulting in a higher average exchange rate for the period impacting the finance expenses assertion by over €2.6 million."
Thirdly, the business said it operated against a backdrop of elevated geopolitical and macroeconomic uncertainty during the first half of 2026. “Inflationary pressures remained impactful on wage cost and consumer sentiment while cost pressures remained elevated, particularly in energy, travel, logistics and procurement, impacting the overall cost base.”
Premier Capital said that the group registered nearly 45.8 million guest counts across its six markets compared to 45.7 million in the previous year. Group revenue rose to €380 million from €369 million during the same period in 2025, which is an increase of 3.1 per cent.
By the end of the first half of 2026, the number of restaurants the group has rose to 204 (up from 195 in June 2025).
“The group continued to invest significantly in its footprint, with over €15 million invested in new restaurants and the refurbishment of existing ones," it said.
The group has total assets worth €443,034,410, and €356,981,994 in total liabilities.
