Express Trailers Malta CEO Franco Azzopardi has announced two new promotions at the upper echelons of the company, with Jesmond Mifsud joining the management team and David Fleri Soler being appointed Chief Commercial Officer (CCO).
The promotions came following thorough evaluations and appraisals, and after Mr Azzopardi consulted Express Trailers’ RemCom (remuneration committee).
Mr Mifsud has served as a Senior Manager in Sales for 30 years, since 1991, meaning he is now entering his 31st year there.
He is a qualified logistician, having read and passed with Distinction a three-year Advanced Diploma in Logistics and Transportation from the University of Malta. He is also a Chartered member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport.
Effective from 1st January, Mr Mifsud has been promoted to Head of Sales and been appointed to the company's ManCom (management committee), which is a group of department heads and top managers driving Express Trailers’ business plan across the corporation.
The other promotion shared by Mr Azzopardi was that of Mr Fleri Soler to CCO.
Like Mr Mifsud, he is a veteran of Express Trailers. He has served the group since 1987, after having spent a five-year stint at another leading logistics company.
“David grew in logistics and excelled at leading the group through various milestones in its lifecycle,” reflected Mr Azzopardi.
He is also a Chartered member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, and the elected Chairperson of The Malta Chamber’s logistics section.
In his time in the latter position, a crowning achievement was his admission of the sector as an associate member of the FIATA International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations – an NGO representing freight forwarders worldwide.
“I have worked closely with David as the previous Head of Sales and Business Development, and I look forward to even more strategic planning with him, now in his new position in the C-suite,” said Mr Azzopardi.
