The much-anticipated launch of the iPhone 16 has drawn a crowd at the iCentre in Mrieħel, where eager Maltese customers have been queuing outside The Quad to get their hands on the latest technology from Apple, with prices ranging from €999 to €1,399.

People have been queueing since yesterday afternoon, and this morning, more people gathered outside the iCentre before opening at 10am.

While Malta may not see the same overwhelming crowds as other global launch locations, the enthusiasm here clearly reflects the nation’s keen interest in technology.

The sight of people lining up in Imrieħel reflects the global excitement that Apple launches tend to create. Even in Malta, where the demand for luxury gadgets continues to grow, the release of a new iPhone generates significant interest, illustrating the strong local appetite for technological advancement.

What Makes the iPhone 16 special?

Apple’s latest iteration, the iPhone 16 offers new upgrades over its predecessor.

While not a complete overhaul, the device boasts new features, like its improved battery life, said to offer hours more usage on a single charge. This is accompanied by a new design, with a thinner frame and more durable materials.

The phone’s A18 Bionic chip also promises faster processing power and enhanced graphics.

Perhaps the most talked-about feature is the upgraded camera system. Apple has introduced an advanced AI-powered photography mode, designed to improve low-light photography and portrait shots, alongside a refined telephoto lens.

While these upgrades are attractive, it’s clear that Apple is sticking to its tried-and-true formula, focusing on refinement rather than reinvention.
