Since stepping into her role as CEO of The Miller Group nearly three years ago, Emma Sullivan has passionately championed a work environment that reflects her personal values and the company’s core principles. Under her leadership, the company recently unveiled a bold employer and employee branding initiative, transforming the workplace with creative “guardian” characters to embody five foundational behaviours: Customer Focus; Integrity, Sustainability & Social Responsibility; Wellbeing, Inclusion, Respect, Equality & Diversity; Teamwork and Transparency; and Accountability.
For Ms Sullivan, the values represented by these guardians aren’t mere ideals – they are principles she lives by. “The company’s workplace behaviours resonate deeply with my personal values,” she shares. “Values like collaboration, respect, and integrity are not just buzzwords for me; they reflect how I strive to interact with others daily.” These behaviours have shaped her journey, guiding her to lead by example and encouraging her team to actively build a positive culture.
As Ms Sullivan introduced the initiative to employees, she underscored the company’s focus on work-life balance and professional growth: “Today is all about showing my commitment, and the commitment of my senior management team, to foster a positive work environment and make this a truly great place to work.”
The upcoming policies will include flexible and remote working options, the option for employees to work reduced hours following the birth of a child, and loyalty rewards through additional leave based on years of service. Additionally, The Miller Group is set to launch Community Service Leave, enabling employees to volunteer with NGOs and make meaningful contributions to society.
Ms Sullivan’s dedication to integrity shapes her daily decisions, aligning with her commitment to The Miller Group’s values. Her leadership continues to inspire a workplace that values integrity, collaboration, and respect, marking The Miller Group as a standout employer in its field.
