Eden Leisure Group will be hosting its second pop-up thrift shop in December to raise funds for two local charities, just in time for Christmas.

This follows the company’s first pop-up thrift shop last September, where over €5,000 was raised in support of three local NGOs, Inspire Malta, Zibel, and MSPCA.

Eden Thrift Shop

The upcoming event will be Christmas-themed, allowing shoppers to opt for more sustainable gifts this year. It will take place on 11th December from 10am to 5pm at St Julian’s hotel InterContinental Malta, and will include an array of winter clothes and party clothes, including a number of top brands and vintage pieces, as well as Christmas decorations and gifts.

All proceeds from the shop will be donated to MSPCA and Inspire Malta. Entrance is free and refreshments will be available for visitors while they browse.

Eden Leisure Group remarked that thrifting serves as a “fun, yet environmentally friendly activity”, allowing for great bargains to be found while saving used clothing from ending up in landfills. Around 20 per cent of clean water pollution in the world comes as a result of the dyeing and finishing of textiles, and fast fashion is third largest polluting industry, hence purchasing pre-used garments will help combat this issue.
