Costa Coffee is shutting down its outlet at the MIA’s check-in hall this evening and relocate to a new space inside the terminal.

While the coffee chain will still have a presence at the Malta International Airport, the closure of the store carries a sense of nostalgia since it was Costa’s first-ever Maltese outlet.

Costa started serving coffee to travellers back in 2012, and has since expanded to 12 outlets across the country.

“A little bittersweet, but very exciting!” Costa said.

We’re saying goodbye to our very first store in Malta, opened all the way back in 2012! But don’t worry, we’re definitely not closing for good; we’re just relocating as part of the new airport project.”

“We’ll be closing today at 6pm to make our final preparations before opening our brand new store tomorrow at 4am. You’ll still find us in the Check-in Hall, right next to the Aviaserve stall. We cannot wait to welcome you there.”
