Marie Claire Camilleri has been promoted to Head of Sales & Business Development at Content House Group, one of Malta’s main media players, owning and managing a large range of media brands in the online and print industries.

Reacting to her appointment, Marie Claire described the “amazing opportunity” to be promoted within such a “forward-looking and progressive company, giving opportunities to its people and opportunities to the various individuals to grow”.

Marie Claire’s career has seen her gain extensive experience in the tourism and hospitality sector, working in sales and business development for leading hotels in the country.

“Even though I come from the tourism sector, I transferred my commercial skills and business acumen to the media world when joining Content House,” says Marie Claire in comments to WhosWho.mt.

“I’m enjoying reconnecting with corporate clients and look forward to spreading my wings further into the corporate world,” she adds.

Asked for any specific goals she hopes to achieve, upping the sales team’s engagement with the B2B industry, working closely together as one strong team, and coming up with new creative ideas were top of her list.

Marie Claire adds that working directly and in tandem with the company’s senior management and directors, to continue strengthening the company’s market share and its product line-up, is also a key goal.

She also shares her excitement about working on Malta Invest, Content House’s latest media brand set for launch in Q4 of this year, and the first locally produced global publication focusing on Malta as an international investment destination: “We’re coming up with a holistic brand, a global annual publication, that focuses on various aspects related to investing in Malta; and what’s special about Malta Invest is its robust global distribution network with strong strategic presence in London, Paris, Frankfurt, Zurich,  Dubai, Geneva and Brussels.”

Weighing in on the appointment, Content House Group Managing Director Jesmond Bonello shares that when Marie Claire first joined the company as a Corporate Sales and Business Development Manager, “there was an instant match with the organisation’s culture and ethos.”

He adds: “Of course, we look for strong personalities with flair and ambition, but we also look for people who share our vision and culture of how we want the company to run.

“Marie Claire’s appointment as Head of Sales and Business Development, entrusting her with a growing passionate team that is responsible for revenue generation, client relationship management and business development of our large number of media brands is further testimony that we like to promote from within, as much as possible.”

Jesmond goes on to stress that she has the right attributes to be highly successful in her new rule, to continue growing within the organisation and to see to the growth of each individual member of her team.

“It is also worth noting that last year Marie Claire was also appointed Chairperson of our Social Committee, and I do hope that the pandemic will allow us to resume our work and fun with the team, throughout 2022!”

Turning his sites to the new year, and prospects for the growing media company, Jesmond remarks:

“Clearly, we’re seeing a strong demand by clients to make their voice heard throughout 2022. January 2022 is by far the busiest January we’ve every head insofar as inbound inquiries by regular and new clients asking for meetings and/or proposals in relation to marketing campaigns, strategic sponsored content and innovative marketing and/or advertising initiatives.”

He adds that traditionally, Content House Group’s strength lays with outbound proposals and pitching, but now, the company “is seeing an unprecedented large number of requests by clients across [its] portfolio, both for online and print media”.

“I feel that what is making us stronger this year in the market is the fact that we have now seven strong portals across various sectors, both in the mass audience segment as well as in specific markets, with an impressive massive market share in the B2B/corporate media segment.”

Content House Group currently owns and manages an impressive number of media portals across different sectors:  www.WhosWho.mt, www.Gwida.mt, www.GuideMeMalta.com, www.MaltaCEOs.mt, www.BusinessNow.mt, www.iGamingCapital.mt and www.OurWedding.mt

Jesmond believes that the online offering of the company is one of the strategic critical success factors for 2022: “We have seven portals that have become very strong media platforms that are attracting strong following, also on social media, and as a result, are proving very popular with businesses, and our clients.

“Linked with these strong online portals we also have hybrid high-end publications that are extremely sought after and popular. Despite the prolonged pandemic, I do have a very good feeling about 2022!”
