The Malta office was opened in November 2010 with the aim of facilitating the growth of the Group’s pensions division. For a number of reasons, Malta is a complementary jurisdiction to Gibraltar in relation to the transfer of client UK pension assets under HMRCs (HM Revenue & Customs) and QROPS (Qualifying Recognised Overseas Pension Schemes) regimes.

As a result of the Group’s expansion into the international pensions arena, its Gibraltar and Malta pensions divisions have between them about 10,000 pensions under management, with clients from over 100 countries.
