Bajada International Solar Systems Ltd was established in 1989. At the time it imported the Edwards brand of solar water heaters from Australia. Eventually, it expanded its operations to other forms of renewable energy. The company now produces its own brand of solar water heaters, Novotherm.

It has come a long way in the renewable energy sector since installing the first photovoltaic panels at the University of Malta and now having the largest solar farm in Malta.
