RE/MAX Malta announced that Sam Zammit has been promoted to CEO as part of the changes to its senior management team in the context of a new corporate strategy.
Original founders, partners and brothers, Kevin and Jeff Buttigieg, who started the company along with their father, Joe, will now occupy positions and supporting roles on the Board of Directors after having occupied the role of Chairman and CEO respectively. In an effort to create a larger focus on the letting side of the business, Jeff Buttigieg will also focus on his position as Managing Director of RE/MAX Lettings Malta.
The announcement was made during the company's International Speaker event held at the Intercontinental Hotel, where management outlined their vision, values, mission and overall strategy for the firm. The event is being held over a three-day period and sees RE/MAX staff treated to insights by top performing regional owners belonging to the RE/MAX family overseas, specifically RE/MAX Argentina which has been named Global Region of the year six times in the past 12 years.
Kevin and Jeffrey co-founded the company in 1999 together with their father, when they set up their own real estate business, JK Properties. Four years later the Buttigieg family brought the international real estate franchise brand, RE/MAX, to Malta.
Incoming CEO Sam Zammit has been with the company for almost 20 years. For close to nine years, he occupied the post of Chief Technology and Innovation Officer, before which he served as Information Technology Manager.
Commenting on his time so far with the company, Jeff described Sam as having shown “pure dedication and loyalty to the brand and the people” he serves.
“Every role you have undertaken, you have taken in your stride and have proven your ability to lead naturally,” Jeff said of the new CEO.
“The board has full confidence that you will lead our business into the next generation of real estate on the Maltese Islands and you have the full backing and support of the management team.
“Kevin, Joe and I, together with the stakeholders, are here to support the company mission, vision, values and strategy we have set together during these weeks and announced today to the company during our International speaker event.”
