Cherise Abela Grech and Terence Cassar have joined law firm GTG Advocates as Partners, it announced on Friday.
Dr Abela Grech has joined as Partner responsible for the corporate, financial services and competition law practices within the firm. She graduated with a Doctor of Laws from University of Malta in 2013, and subsequently read for a master’s degree in Financial Services from the same university. She was admitted to the Maltese Bar in 2014.
Dr Cassar has been appointed Partner responsible for the firm’s intellectual property, data protection and privacy, media and telecommunication practices. He was admitted to the Maltese Bar in 2016 and holds a Doctor of Laws from University of Malta, as well as an LLM in Internet Law & Policy from University of Strathclyde.
Managing Partner Ian Gauci welcomed Dr Abela Grech and Dr Cassar to the partnership, adding that he is “very proud” to have them at the firm.

GTG was founded in 1997, and since then it has been “at the forefront” of Malta’s legal profession, “blending together established private practices into a centre of expertise and excellence”. The appointments come at a time when GTG only recently rebranded with a new logo and image, revamped its office, and also launched its new website.
