Chef’s Choice Ltd remains "committed" to adding to its nine outlets across the Maltese Islands over the coming year, Managing Director Joseph Mizzi has revealed.

The announcement came as Prime Minister Robert Abela visited the meat wholesaler’s main establishment in Marsaskala on Friday. During the visit, the growth in infrastructure by Chef’s Choice was highlighted, driven by an investment of €6 million over the last four years.

The company currently has 100 employees, and is projecting a further increase of 50 in the near future.

Mr Mizzi thanked Dr Abela for the visit and for the “Government’s trust in the private sector”. In this respect, he made reference to “the number of new stores that the company is committed to opening next year”, highlighting the “strong evidence of trust the local private sector is showing along with recognition of the decisions” the Government has made for companies to continue expanding.

Dr Abela remarked that such investment has led to positive results and prospects, before adding that the “Government believes in Malta’s potential, and its focus is on helping it grow, become stronger, and create more opportunities”.

He explained that as indicated through the measures announced during Budget 2023, “the tougher the challenges, the greater the need to support families and businesses”.

“It is for this reason that the Government has continued to support families and assist businesses. Businesses, which in contrast to those in other countries, have their minds at rest with regards to stable energy prices,” Dr Abela concluded.

With nine stores spread across Malta and Gozo, Chef’s Choice has continued to expand its operations in recent years. The company has stores in Marsaskala, Żurrieq, St Paul’s Bay, and Victoria, among others.
