Calamatta Cuschieri Group plc (CC Group) subsidiary CC Fund Services has appointed Stephen Gauci Baluci as Managing Director.

He first joined the company in 2011, and has since served in various roles, including Operations Manager and Head of Fund Services. He was named in the latter in 2016, and served in the position up until his most recent promotion.

Commenting on his appointment, he said: “I am proud and motivated to be the one who was given the opportunity to continue steering CC Fund Services towards further growth within the fund administration business.”

“We shall be strengthening our operation on both the local and international scenario and together with a great team of colleagues, we shall continue working together in order to retain the excellence of the company’s services for the full satisfaction of our customers,” he continued.

Aside from his time at the firm, he also worked as Fund Accountant at HSBC’s fund services division and as Supervisor at PwC Malta. During his time at the latter, he was also posted abroad where he was responsible for leading multidisciplinary teams with the task of auditing hedge funds in New York and the Channel Islands.

He is a warranted Accountant and Auditor by profession with an acute understanding of the funds industry. Through his working experience of over 15 years in the sector, he has formed a specialisation in accounting and valuation, transfer agency, including anti-money laundering, compliance, regulatory financial reporting, and corporate services. He is a Fellow of the Malta Institute of Accountants and also Chairman of the MASA Fund Administration sub-committee.

It currently offers its services to over 100 sub-funds for a broad range of investment schemes covering all asset classes and different type of fund structures.
