Burlingtons Group has announced its investment in property firm Hyde Park Residential, which was founded by former GlobalCapital CEO Nicholas Portelli and is recognised as one of the top 50 real estate advisors by property journal PrimeResi.

Announcing the investment, Burlington’s described it as “a very important milestone” in its expansion, and said that as a result, Hyde Park Residential “will be renamed Burlingtons Real Estate Advisory Limited”.

The relationship between Burlingtons, Mr Portelli, and Hyde Park Residential, “goes back many years”, the company said, and the businesses have “collaborated together on numerous real estate projects and transactions”, including acquisitions and disposals of real estate assets in central London and internationally.

As a result of these transactions, the company took a small take in Hyde Park Residential “several years ago” and has now increased its investment to “become equal partners” with Mr Portelli in the business.

Burlington’s said it firmly believes the timing of its investment is right.

“With Brexit largely behind us and with the gradual lifting of lockdown, we can see that investors are keen to re-engage in real estate transactions and London will remain a key player in this market,” it predicted.

“The UK appears to be managing its exit from the pandemic well and has showcased that it will be a global leader in this regard making it an attractive place for local and international investors”, Burlington’s continued.

Before becoming Managing Director at Burlingtons Real Estate, Mr Portelli, who is also a Lead Consultant at Burlingtons Private Office, served as Chief Executive Officer of GlobalCapital plc (now LifeStar Holdings plc), which is listed on the Malta Stock Exchange.
