Bank of Valletta today announced that its Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Elvia George, has retired with effect from 5th January.

Through a Malta Stock Exchange announcement, the bank reported that Marisa Abdilla is set to assume the role of interim CFO, “subject to regulatory approval”.

A recruitment process is now underway for a new CFO at BOV, which has in recent years undergone rapid change through a complete upgrade of its core systems as well as a shift towards a risk-based approach in 2019.

The bank thanked Ms George for her contribution and wished her “every success in her future endeavours”.

Interim CFO Ms Abdilla is a certified public accountant and has held a position in BOV’s Finance Department since 1999, being appointed Head Finance in 2012 and Executive Finance in 2017.
