BNF Bank has announced the temporary closure of four branches: Paola, San Gwann, Naxxar and Rabat, as from 30th March and until further notice.

Evening service is also suspended in Gozo, Fgura and Qormi branches until further notice.

Opening hours of the bank’s branches in Attard, Mosta, St. Julian's, St. Paul's Bay, Siggiewi, Qormi, Fgura and Gozo are Monday to Saturday - 9:00 a.m. - 12.30 p.m.

With reference to a Central Bank of Malta's Directive on important measures concerning cheques, BNF advised customers that cheques and bank drafts marked as payable only to the payee can now be deposited in the account of a third party via the Bank's ATMs as long as the cheque is endorsed by both the payee and the 3rd party.

This enables customers with limited mobility or with quarantine restrictions to avoid visiting bank branches and is aimed for people receiving their social security benefits, including pensions, in the form of cheque.

The amount of time taken to clear cheques and bank drafts has been extended temporarily to six days.
