“We are delighted to be able to put into practice the NIKE philosophy of equality in sport and sponsor Birkirkara Football Club’s men’s, women’s and youth teams” stated Felice Ilacqua, the Intersport Franchise Director for Malta.

Birkirkara F.C. plays in the first division within Malta’s Premier League.

It holds the distinction of being one of only six clubs that have managed to win all the major honours in Maltese Football.

The Club won its first major honours in 1999, when it won the Lowenbrau Cup and the Super 5 Cup in the same season, going on to win the Premier League for the first time in the following season.

Birkirkara F.C. has won 22 major honours so far and is the club that has won most cups in this millennium.

Birkirkara Women’s Team is one of the most successful teams in Women’s Football in Malta. The team has won nine leagues, the Knock-Out competition 13 times and the Super Cup four times.

In the 2016-2017 Season, Birkirkara F.C. won the league and the knock-out competition to win their fifth double in history. The team went on to win the Super Cup, the first honour of the 2017-2018 Season to become the holders of all three cups that Women’s Football offers.

Besides the Senior Team and the Women's Team, Intersport will also be the kit sponsor of the Under 19's squad and the Youth Academy.
