Roderick Spiteri Schillig, who on Monday was celebrating his thousandth day working for the Betsson Group, has been appointed Head of External Communications at the company.

Mr Spiteri Schillig, who joined Betsson in June 2019 as Head of Employer Branding and External Relations, announced the milestone and his new position on LinkedIn on Monday.

Celebrating his “k-day” at the company, he said he was “part of some amazing changes”, over his time at the company.

Detailing some of the progress, he points to an increase of job applications to the company by 500 per cent, the expansion of the Betsson Group social media followers by 350 per cent, and the company receiving twice as many awards in the last two years, as it had in all previous years.

Looking to his new position, he explains that “today, Betsson Group enjoys an extremely strong and robust employer brand and it is, therefore, the right time to take a step back [from his previous] responsibility”.

“At this juncture of Betsson Group’s journey of growth and expansion”, Mr Spiteri Schillig says, “this will allow me to focus 100 per cent on communications”.

He brings with him to his new role a wealth of experience in a variety of fields, including in programming, as a junior software programmer, in media, as a presenter on Capital Radio, and television co-producer for RCS Media productions, and PR, at the Malta Information Technology Agency and as Head of Communications LeoVegas.
