Patrick’s Lounge, Restaurant & Steakhouse, located in Victoria Gozo, has announced “with a heavy and modest heart,” that it will be closing its doors, with the last dinner service scheduled for Sunday 8th November.

Making the announcement on social media, the owner said:

“Our journey here has unfortunately come to an end. Due to unperceived circumstances it is time for us to close this chapter and move on to our next adventure. The past 18 years here have flown over me like a breeze. As they say, ‘do something you love, and you’ll never work another day in your life’.”

The restaurant first opened its doors in 2003 and has remained a popular fixture among restaurant-goers in Gozo over throughout its 18 years in operation.

“Since day one back in 2003, Patrick’s Lounge & Restaurant promised huge success and we appreciate how you have trusted us over the years with your personal and special occasions like marriage proposals, weddings and family gatherings. Not to mention the annual memories created during the festive season, New Year’s Eve and our special Valentines dinner,” the restaurant owner said.

Management thanked all those people “who made this dream possible,” extending thanks and appreciation “to all our esteemed clientele for their ongoing support, loyalty, for believing in us and giving us a better life – you will always be remembered in our hearts.

“We cannot thank you enough in helping us achieve so much praise and recognition with 50 plus awards portrayed on our walls!

“A huge thanks goes to the numerous workforce that have entered our doors, functioning side by side to achieve our goals.

“Some stayed a while and some left too soon but we have very fond memories of the ones who still feel like family and till today are close to our hearts. The determination, sacrifices and professionalism they have offered us will stay imprinted in our hearts forever.”

Management went on to express appreciation to their family for putting up with “awkward working hours and sleeping on my days off”.

“My son Zaine, my world, whose happiness and most activities I’ve missed for falling out due to work. Finally, Yosefa who stood by my side all the way and made me proud, even working the floor to ensure customer satisfaction.”

Alluding to new ventures, management went on to say:

“On a positive note, old doors close so that new ones open and new beginnings are often disguised as painful endings.”
