Seasoned hospitality industry professional Angela Saliba on Tuesday was appointed Multi-Property General Manager at Budapest Marriott Hotel and its Millennium Court, Marriott Executive Apartments.

Ms Saliba has had an illustrious career working in hospitality that spans 30 years, during which time she has demonstrated a dedication and passion for the sector with a proven track record of leadership across multiple brands in both resort and city centre locations.

Located on the banks of the Danube River, Budapest Marriott Hotel is the brand’s flagship hotel in the Hungarian capital, and features 364 rooms. Millennium Court is an apartment hotel that is also operated by the company, located just a few steps away from the city’s main shopping area.

Prior to her newest role, Ms Saliba had spent over 10 years working in Poland, leading the teams at Sheraton Grand Krakow and Sheraton Grand Warsaw, both hotels owned by Marriott International.

Commenting on her time working at the hotels, she remarked that when she arrived in Krakow in 2013, she “could not have imagined” that Poland would end up being her home for such a long time. She added that it was a “real pleasure” to lead the two hotels, noting that their management is “amongst the best of the best, highly engaged, committed, hardworking, and loyal.”

“I am leaving Poland with the fondest of memories, personally and professionally. Thinking about all the amazing people I have worked with at property and corporate level. Thank you so much for your support,” Ms Saliba said.

Ms Saliba’s career first started in Malta, where she honed her skills in various room division roles before joining the pre-opening team of the Westin Dragonara Resort in St Julian’s in 1997. She stayed at the hotel for more than 10 years, going up the corporate ladder to also being named Director of Six Sigma and Operational innovation.

She also held pivotal leadership roles, including as Hotel Manager at Le Meridien in St Julian’s, as well as The Westin Costa Navarino in Greece.

In 2017, she was rewarded for her leadership by being named the Marriott International General Manager of the Year for Europe, Core Brands.

“Angela’s passion for hospitality, coupled with her commitment to excellence and collaboration, makes her the perfect fit to lead our team in Budapest. We are confident that her expertise and dedication will drive our properties to new heights of success,” Budapest Marriott Hotel stated in the announcement.

Ms Saliba describes herself as passionate about “improving operational efficiencies, profitability, and guest satisfaction,” and is also keen on embracing change, leading by example, and empowering others through her approach.
