Andrew Zammit has been appointed Chief Relations Officer at Hospice Malta, the Balzan-based organisation that provides palliative care to patients and support to their loved ones.

Mr Zammit will be responsible for leveraging relations with patients, partners, suppliers and employees in order to attract, retain, grow and sustain Hospice Malta for its future growth plans.

In particular, he will be prioritising all fundraising efforts that will lead to the opening of St Michael Hospice in Sta Venera, a new palliative care complex providing free services to patients and their families.

“I am absolutely thrilled to be joining the wonderful team at Hospice Malta. It is a huge honour and enormous responsibility to be asked to help lead a new chapter in this organisation's formidable history,” said Mr Zammit. “I have witnessed first-hand the incredible work carried out by the professional team and numerous volunteers, and I am delighted to now be a part of it.”

Previously, Mr Zammit was General Manager at radio station 89.7 Bay and, prior to that, Group Sales Manager at Eden Leisure Group.

Hospice Malta provides care and support to those suffering from cancer, motor neuron disease, and serious cardiac, respiratory and renal illnesses, as well as their families and loved ones. The team cares for around 1,300 patients every year, and plans to expand its services by completing Malta's first ever complex dedicated solely to hospice care.
