As from Sunday 3rd May 2020, Air Malta operations to and from London Heathrow will be temporarily relocated to Terminal 2 until further notice, the airline said in a statement.
This decision was taken by the airport following the slowdown in air travel due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Heathrow Airport announced that in view of this they have transitioned to a single runway operation to increase resilience and safety. The airport is temporarily consolidating services to Terminals 2 and 5.
Ordinarily, Air Malta makes use of Terminal 4 in Heathrow Airport.
While a commercial travel ban continues to be in place, it would be up to Heathrow Airport to continue to allot Air Malta Terminal 2 once travel resumes.
