As part of Air Malta’s commitment to ensure the health and safety of its customers, the national carrier has reviewed operational procedures and upgraded cleaning measures.
Travellers are required to arrive at the airport a minimum of 2.5 hours prior to the flight’s scheduled departure time, and only travellers will be allowed in the airport terminal.
All travelling customers must fill the health declaration form prior to checking-in for any Air Malta flight. This form must be presented at the boarding gate either electronically or as a printed copy, prior to boarding the aircraft. Passengers not in possession, may be refused boarding.
People are required to wear a mask at all times when inside the airport, when boarding the flight, and throughout the flight.
Hand luggage is to be checked in for free at all times, with the exception of laptop bags, baby bags and handbags.
“The changes are intended to ensure safer travels. The Airline has been working with various Authorities and industry partners and has taken all the necessary measures as recommended by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA)”, Air Malta said in a company statement.
“These changes ensure the highest standards of health and safety, not only onboard its flights, but throughout its customer contact points.”
