Air Malta has expanded its services to the French and Dutch markets, adding a weekly service to both nation’s capital cities from 20th July 2021.
From then, the airline will be operating flights to and from Paris Charles De Gaulle Airport daily except on Wednesday, and as from the 24th will operate flights daily to Amsterdam, except on Tuesdays and Sundays.
From September, a further weekly service will be added to the Dutch capital, bringing frequency up to six times per week.
Also announced on Tuesday, in view of slow demand from the UK market since Malta remained off its green list for travellers, Air Malta says it has taken the decision to cancel all flights to/from Manchester which were originally planned between the period 20th July to 10th September 2021.
In July, the Airline will also be cancelling 11 return flights to and from London Heathrow, reducing the schedule to six times a week with a daily morning service except on Tuesdays.
Commenting on these changes, Air Malta’s Chief Commercial Officer Roy Kinnear stated: “We are closely monitoring all the developments in the market and adapting our network accordingly. Unfortunately, the continued absence of green list status in the UK and the decline in advance bookings with no obvious signs of improvement, we are left with no option but to consolidate our planned operations.
“The UK remains an integral part of our future network plans and Air Malta will re-consider its position if the circumstances change”.
These changes mean that this summer, Air Malta will operate direct flights to/from 19 cities: Amsterdam, Berlin, Brussels, Catania, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Geneva, Lisbon, London Heathrow, Lyon, Munich, Milan Linate, Palermo, Paris Charles De Gaulle, Paris Orly, Prague, Rome, Vienna, and Zurich.
