Malta International Airport (MIA) on Monday announced the passing of one of its employees, David Mizzi, at the age of 42.

Mr Mizzi formed part of the technical facilities department.

The airport's management stated that it is “extremely saddened” by the news of his passing, adding that: “David’s friendliness, competence, and reliability made him a much-valued team member, and he will be sorely missed by us all".

MIA also expressed its sympathies to his family and friends during these difficult times.

The social media post was met with a number of comments from people expressing their condolences towards his loved ones.
