1923 Investments plc has announced the appointment of Dr Ann Fenech to the Board of Directors following the resignation of Dr Austin Gatt from his office of Director, Legal and Judicial Representative with effect from 8th June 2020.

The announcement was published on the Malta Stock Exchange on Wednesday.

Dr Gatt, who served as Government minister under several portfolios between 1998 and 2013, has also ceased to be a member of the Audit Committee of the Company from the 8th June 2020.

The Board of Directors thank Dr Gatt for his service to the Company.

The company further announced that Dr Fenech has been appointed in his stead, with effect from 9th June 2020.

The Board also appointed Dr Fenech as an independent non-executive member of the Audit Committee with effect from the 9th June 2020.

In a separate Malta Stock Exchange announcement, Premier Capital announced the resignation of Dr Fenech from the office of director with the company, and thanked her for her work.

Dr Fenech is the Managing Partner of Fenech and Fenech Advocates, and the Head of the Marine Litigation Department. After qualifying in 1986 she joined the shipping and commercial firm of Holman Fenwick and Willan in London where she stayed until 1991 prior to joining New Orleans firm of Chaffe, McCall, Phillips Toler and Sarpy.

She is the President of the Malta Maritime Law Association and Vice-Chairman of the Yachting Services Trade Section at the Malta Chamber of Commerce and Enterprise. She previously served as executive council president of the Nationalist Party.
