P. Muscat Opticians is a family business that was established in 1849, moving on from one generation to another. Joseph Farrugia, the company's Managing Director, has been involved in it since the early 1980s.

“Having taken over from my father, I am now the Managing Director of the company.

“In May 2019, together with my wife, we opened a new optical outlet in the south of Malta. Our aim is to make the business grow by ensuring the customer is fully satisfied with both the professional services we offer and also our best products,” he says.

A former Committee Member of the Republic Street Business Community Association, Mr Farrugia is involved in English and Maltese translations and typography. In 2012, he founded a publishing house, of which he is Director.

Throughout the years, as one generation of the Farrugia family handed over the firm to the next, it was ensured that P. Muscat Opticians continued to be based on a solid foundation of family values. It was determined to expand the world of eyewear on the island.
