Ian Portelli joined TradeMalta as a Trade Promotion Senior Executive in July 2025, where he supports the internationalisation of Malta-based businesses.

“My role involves the planning, coordination, and execution of trade promotion activities and events aimed at enhancing the visibility and international market presence of our clients,” Mr Portelli explains.

This position calls for excellent communication and administrative skills, a deep understanding of global trade dynamics, and a strong commitment to the internationalisation of Malta-based enterprises. With an energetic and driven character, Mr Portelli brings a hands-on, solutions-oriented approach to his work, focused on helping businesses unlock global opportunities and achieve sustainable growth.

Mr Portelli holds a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Malta, which has further strengthened his analytical capabilities and strategic insight.

“Completing my Master’s has equipped me with a strong analytical foundation that complements my work at TradeMalta,” Mr Portelli continues. “It enables me to combine economic theory with practical execution to support Malta-based businesses in their international growth ambitions.”
