Albert Bonello is a seasoned finance executive with over two decades of experience in banking, corporate finance and strategic leadership. He began his career in the banking sector while pursuing his professional qualifications with the Malta Institute of Accountants and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). 

In 2007, Mr Bonello joined AX Group as Financial Controller, where he was entrusted with overseeing the parent company's accounting and finance functions. His strong financial acumen and commitment to operational excellence led to his appointment as Group CFO in 2016. In this role, he spearheaded the Group’s financial strategy, managed funding structures and liquidity, introduced digital solutions to enhance efficiency and directed the Investor Relations Office.

Mr Bonello is a Fellow of the Malta Institute of Accountants (MIA) and a Member of ACCA. His expertise spans capital structuring, risk management and governance, underpinned by a forward-thinking approach to innovation and growth.

In 2023, Mr Bonello was promoted to Managing Director – Finance & Administration, where he continues to play a pivotal role in shaping AX Group’s overall business strategy. He is responsible for aligning finance and administration functions with the Group’s long-term objectives, driving sustainable growth and ensuring robust governance frameworks across diverse business units.
