A Partner within the Marine Litigation Department, Adrian Attard was admitted to the bar in 2009.

“My main areas of practice are shipping and dispute resolution with vast experience in most types of wet and dry shipping disputes. I also regularly assist shipping financiers in enforcement scenarios. Moreover, I handle several marine fuel disputes.,” he says.

He has a wealth of experience in most aspects of maritime law including judicial sales by auction and court approved private sales of vessels. The wet and dry shipping disputes he handles range from collisions, salvage and towage claims to insurance claims, disputes relating to carriage of goods and charter party agreements and the arrest of vessels.

Dr Attard is also well versed in contract drafting and negotiations and handles enforcement proceedings for the recovery of debts using both local and EU enforcement mechanisms, enforcing judgment and arbitral awards locally.

He holds a Master’s degree in international maritime law and also obtained a PhD from Queen Mary University of London.
