Cosmina Simion, Managing Partner WH Simion Partners

The new venture, which will carry the brand name WH Simion & Partners, will operate under the leadership of Cosmina Simion and will initially house a team of 10 professionals, including three partners: Dr Simion, Alina Tace and Irina Corcoveanu.

“Dr Simion is one of the most respected regulatory, intellectual property (IP), corporate and technology lawyers in Romania,” WH Partners said in a statement.

She has over two decades of experience in various industries with an emphasis on media and entertainment, technology, online and gaming industries.

Prior to establishing WH Simion & Partners, Dr Simion was Managing Partner and Co-Founder of Simion & Baciu. Before that, she was also Intellectual Property Partner and Co-Head of the gambling, consumer, and advertising practices at Romania’s largest and oldest law firm, among other experiences.

Now, WH Simion & Partners will focus on different areas of practice including intellectual property, gaming and gambling, competition law, consumer protection and advertising, technology and media, data privacy and personal data processing, corporate, M&A and dispute resolution.

James Scicluna, Co-Founder & Managing Partner WH Partners

Commenting on the launch, WH Partners’ Co-Founder and Managing Partner James Scicluna said that over the years the firm worked hard to grow into a “strongly client focused [firm], bringing together professionals who have a like-minded approach to law and business.”

On the other hand, Dr Simion stated that the firm’s values align well with those of Simion & Partners and both have already established a good relationship over collaborations in the past.

“My partners and I now look forward to working even more closely with our colleagues at WH in Malta, Poland, Czech Republic and the UAE,” Dr Simion concluded.
