Maria Kristina Cassar has been appointed Head of the Tax Compliance Department at Fenlex Corporate Services.

Ms Cassar joined Fenlex in 2023. According to the company, in her new position, she oversees a team of tax accountants supporting clients across a range of industries, with a focus on maintaining high standards of service, ensuring compliance with Maltese tax legislation, and delivering work within established deadlines.

According to Fenlex, Ms Cassar’s areas of practice include both direct and indirect taxation, as well as payroll services. She also advises clients on local and international tax matters.

Prior to joining Fenlex, Ms Cassar worked at PwC in Malta for more than five years.

Ms Cassar is a Certified Public Accountant, an ACCA Fellow, and holds a Professional Award in Taxation from the Malta Institute of Taxation. She is also involved in knowledge sharing within the sector through lecturing engagements at local institutions and participation in professional committees.

Commenting on her appointment, Ms Cassar described the role as “an important milestone” in her professional journey and thanked the leaders, mentors, and colleagues who contributed to her development.

“I am excited to take on this new challenge and to continue building on the strong foundations already in place,” she said, adding that she looks forward to working with the team to further strengthen the firm’s tax practice and support clients.
