Vassallo Group Malta has announced that it is celebrating its 75th Birthday.

Vassallo Group was formed in 1946 in a nation devastated by the Second World War.

It is said to have embarked on a mission to “rebuild the nation”.

75 years later, the company stands at the forefront of different sectors including property and construction, furniture and interiors, elderly and disability care, catering, hospitality, architecture and education.

Despite its tremendous accomplishments, the Group has retained its family character. When he was 19 years old, the Group’s current chairman, Nazzareno Vassallo, became manager of Vassallo Builders Ltd born out of a partnership started by his father.

Though the Group has permeated many sectors, its construction arm has remained an industry leader.

Their vast Campus Hub Project continues to progress. It is spread over 65,000 sqm, and offers accommodation, lecture halls, medical facilities, retail, and commercial space for University of Malta students.

The project is ambitious in more ways that just its scale.

It is to be built using innovative construction methods, with especial consideration to sustainability.

Reservoirs will collect and rain water for reuse and the Campus Hub is being built with the assistance of recycled plastic, better known as Bubble Deck, which eliminates 40 per cent of concrete usage. The use of Bubble Deck is expected to save over 8 million kgs of CO2.
