A national telethon held on Sunday (yesterday) in aid of DAR Bjorn has raised an impressive €1,736,216 to support its work in caring for people with severe neurological conditions.

Founded in 2017 by Bjorn Formosa, DAR Bjorn operates pioneering neurological homes in Qormi and Żebbuġ, which provide 24/7 nursing care and specialised treatment for residents living with conditions such as ALS and MS. Together, the two homes currently host 43 permanent residents, supported by state-of-the-art medical technology, intelligent smart home systems, and a dedicated team of professionals.

The funds collected will help sustain existing operations and contribute towards ambitious projects, including DAR Bjorn Respite, aimed at extending care to more individuals.

Reflecting on the outcome, Mr Formosa remarked, “I’m very tired, but it was worth it."
