Suncat Malta Charters has acquired Sailing Charters Malta.

The transaction sees Suncat Malta Charters, led by founder and Managing Director Keith Sammut, take ownership of Sailing Charters Malta, a company built over several years by founder David Anthony Gatt.

Following the completion of the deal, Mr Gatt has announced his retirement from public life, marking the end of his involvement in the industry. In comments included in the announcement, he expressed confidence that the business would continue to operate at a high standard under its new ownership.

“It has been an immensely rewarding journey sharing my passion for sailing with so many wonderful clients over the years,” said Mr. Gatt. “I am proud of what we have built and confident that Suncat Malta Charters, under Keith Sammut’s leadership, will continue to uphold the high standards of exceptional customer service, operational excellence, and a deep commitment to professionalism, integrity, and passion.”

Mr Sammut described the acquisition as aligned with the company’s long-term strategy, highlighting objectives that include expanding the fleet, enhancing service offerings, and reinforcing Malta’s position as a year-round maritime tourism destination.

The combined operation is expected to offer customers access to a broader range of vessels, including private catamarans and sailing yachts, alongside tailored charter experiences. According to the companies, the transition will be managed to ensure continuity in service delivery, with existing crews and operational standards maintained.
