Miguel Cassar (18) and Denzel Baldacchino (20) are two Junior Atlassian Developers who have been working with onpoint ltd for the past year, as they are both pursuing a bachelor’s degree in software development. Sharing a passion for software and creativity, they are still incredulous about all they are exposed to at such a young age.
“For me it’s all quite a bit incredible. I dreamed from a very young age of being able to work in software, which has always fascinated me as a subject. Today, I am still in my teens, and I am already directly involved in creating solutions for helping businesses and workers improve their work processes,” says Miguel, describing his experience at onpoint ltd so far.
Denzel mirrors his colleague’s sentiment, as he describes the satisfaction he receives from the intricate, ever-changing landscape of technology. “It's a world that fuels my passion, with every new challenge I encounter, pushing the boundaries of what I initially believed was possible!”
Both Miguel and Denzel are making strides, as they establish themselves in one if the exciting fields in software development, specifically Atlassian. In fact, together with a team of experienced and licensed professionals, they form part of the onpoint ltd service offering.

Asked what the highlight of their experience at onpoint ltd has been so far, Denzel and Miguel agree that finding solutions for problems which would previously have appeared to be impossible to solve, delivers a great deal of satisfaction.
“Finding a way of writing script that will create a solution to reduce the working time to carry out a task from several hours to a click of a button is very special,” Miguel explains as he was able to develop a script that automated the upload of documents to a new system for a client. “The satisfaction of reducing the workload of several people into an automated process is quite incredible,” he notes.
Similarly, Denzel proudly recounts how he recently helped creating a programme that significantly streamlined report generation, saving weeks of time in the process. “It is a meticulous process of research and creativity, but also ensuring the utmost reliability at every single step,” Denzel continues.
As both Denzel and Miguel are currently studying at MCAST, they still have a while to go to conclude their educational journey, especially as they intend to continue specialising in their field.
“Acquiring further certification, especially in new and evolving software languages remains central, yet exposure to the practical side of things through the work experience is as important,” they both agree.
In fact, their practical experience at onpoint ltd unveiled a whole new dimension of learning that probably traditional education would fall short of. As both Denzel and Miguel agree, they are among a select group of elite individuals who hold the title of Atlassian administrators, a testament to their passion for the field of software development.
