On Monday (today), St Edward’s College Malta announced the passing of their former colleague, Noemi Zarb.

The college shared that Ms Zarb, who formerly held the role of English teacher at the college, moved to a better life “after a long battle, bravely fought.”

Her funeral will be held on Thursday, 5th September, at Sacro Cuor, Sliema.

For two decades, Ms Zarb taught English literature and critical thinking. On her LinkedIn profile, she had written that dealing with young people tends to keep the educator young. “And I have truckloads of cherished memories of my past students,” she said.

In addition to her years in education, Ms Zarb was also an author and a columnist. She wrote a book called 'Poetry Speaks Let’s Listen: Learn how to see the world feelingly' and 'The Gardenias Must Go.'

Throughout her career, she published over 600 articles in different newspapers and magazines. She had experience in interviewing painters and people involved in the performing arts.

Furthermore, she also served as Marketing Manager to launch and oversee the introduction of sheltered housing for the elderly in Malta.

Later, she was tasked to coordinate the marketing of a local company that represented Italian construction equipment companies in the Middle East, an experience she described as “a great and rewarding learning curve.”
