A fragrance can evoke a memory, express an emotion, or bear witness to the character of the person wearing it. A perfume leaves an impression long after they have departed, as it becomes a calling card, an invisible signature that is entirely one’s own.
This was the idea behind an exclusive event by SCENTONIQ held on 23rd July to celebrate the incredible fragrances in the Creed Aventus line. Held at Caviar & Bull this event brought together some of Malta’s most affluent and influential personalities and content creators, for an evening built around one central theme: Leave Your Mark.
“The concept reflects what fragrance can represent for each individual,” explains Caroline Andrade, Business Manager for Southern Europe at Creed. “Your fragrance is your calling card. It becomes part of the impression you create and the memories you leave behind.”

The evening placed a great emphasis on creating memories, while discovering the story, ingredients and craftsmanship behind the Aventus collection.
An engraver was present throughout the event, allowing guests to personalise Creed bottles with their initials or a word of their choice. The detail transformed each bottle into a personal keepsake, reinforcing the evening’s message that luxury becomes even more meaningful when it carries an individual mark.
The concept of permanence was further underlined at the ex libris station where attendees could personalise a classic of literature of their choice, with a brief message or stamp.
The story of The House of Creed stretches back to London in 1760. Originally established as a tailoring house, Creed developed a reputation for craftsmanship and bespoke creation, serving British royalty and aristocracy before its heritage of precision and artistry found a new expression in the development of fine fragrances.
Across seven generations, the House has retained the principles that first shaped its identity. Today, its British heritage is combined with the traditions of French haute perfumery, giving Creed a distinctive place within the international fragrance industry.
That distinction rests largely on the way its fragrances are made. While much of the modern fragrance industry has moved towards large-scale commercial production, Creed continues to work through artisanal methods at its small factory near Fontainebleau in France.
“At Creed, we travel the world in search of high-quality ingredients, from Calabrian bergamot and Bulgarian roses to rare woods and resins. These raw materials are carefully weighed, mixed and macerated by hand, following a labour-intensive process that larger commercial operations have largely left behind,” Caroline explains.
One particularly striking example is the oud used by the House. Creed’s Oud Zarian features rare Oud Choron harvested from Aquilaria trees and aged for 80 years. The ingredient reflects the patience, scarcity and specialised knowledge that can lie behind a single fragrance.
For Caroline, this commitment to exceptional raw materials and traditional methods is central to understanding what makes Creed different.
“Other brands may industrialise the process. At Creed, we choose to ritualise it,” she says. “We do things differently because this is an artisanal product, and we are immensely proud of that.”
It is an approach that prioritises the integrity of the finished fragrance over the speed or scale at which it can be produced. “Creed naturally continues to seek growth, but not at the expense of quality, authenticity or the elements that make its fragrances distinctive,” she qualifies.
This philosophy also informs the House’s approach to sustainability. “Creed fragrances are created without preservatives, colourants or enhancers, allowing the quality and character of the carefully sourced ingredients to remain at the centre of each composition.”
Creed has long been a pioneer within the niche fragrance segment, serving customers who look beyond mass-produced scents and value craftsmanship, provenance and individuality. Each fragrance is intended to possess its own identity while becoming something equally individual when worn.
Few creations embody this philosophy as successfully as Aventus. Launched in 2010, the fragrance has since become an icon of the House and one of the most recognisable names in contemporary niche perfumery.
At the heart of Aventus is an immediately distinctive combination of fresh Calabrian bergamot and a defining pineapple accord. The composition is bold and memorable, reflecting the confidence and individuality that have remained closely associated with the fragrance throughout its 16-year history.
Over time, Aventus has developed into a wider collection, with each interpretation retaining a connection to the original while introducing a character of its own.
Aventus For Her brings Bulgarian rose into the composition, offering a vibrant expression created around modern individuality. Absolu Aventus presents a richer and more intense interpretation, brightened by citrus notes including lime, while Aventus Cologne introduces the freshness of grapefruit to create a lighter, more contemporary offering.
“Together, the four fragrances demonstrate how a successful icon can evolve without losing the qualities that make it distinctive. Each offers a different way of interpreting the Aventus identity, giving wearers the freedom to find the expression that most closely reflects their own personality,” Caroline concludes.
In Malta, Creed fragrances are available exclusively from Scentoniq in Valletta , The Strand - Sliema , The Point Mall – Sliema , St Julian’s and Mosta .
