Santumas Shareholdings registered a profit before tax of €1.6 million for the financial year ended 30th April, 2026, an increase of more than €70,000 compared with the previous year.
The company's published financial statements show that dividend income more than doubled from the previous year, reaching €910,542 as a result of higher dividend distributions from the company's underlying financial investments.
The company's portfolio of financial assets registered an unrealised gain of €516,601, representing an increase of 5.6 per cent compared with the previous financial year. This came after the company had recorded a mid-year loss of €122,267, meaning that the loss position was reversed by the end of the financial year.
The Testaferrata Moroni Viani family is the company's largest shareholder, holding a significant amount of shares amounting to 48.9 per cent through Mercury plc and Amalgamated Investments SICAV plc.
Other significant shareholders include Anthony P. Demajo (6.8 per cent) and the Archdiocese of Malta (6.6 per cent).
Santumas Shareholdings also has a number of financial securities with various local companies, with the majority of its securities being with local banks. Its portfolio also includes financial securities with companies operating in telecommunications, as well as Malta International Airport and MaltaPost.
The company also has a diverse portfolio of properties, consisting mainly of development land and buildings, as well as ground rents.
Financial securities account for around 60 per cent of the company's total portfolio, while the remaining 40 per cent is dedicated to property.
Of the 60 per cent, 70.5 per cent are made up of equity securities amouting to €6.8 million, bonds account for 9.8 per cent while the remaining 19.7 per cent are managed funds.
Among its property holdings are two units in Tania Flats, the block of apartments in St Julian's which collapsed more than a year ago. In the Director’s report the company explained that it’s still waiting on the official reports and conclusions from the relevant authorities.
