On Wednesday, San Anton School announced the passing of its Head of Operations, Pierre Camilleri.
“It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our dearest colleague,” the school wrote in a statement.
“May he be granted eternal rest and may the Lord watch over his wife Josette and children Nicola and Julian, during this most difficult time.
“We kindly ask you to keep them in your prayers.”
Following the announcement, an outpouring of grief on social media could be observed by colleagues, former pupils and those who knew Mr Camilleri.
He is described as a “true and fine gentleman” and a “pillar at San Anton School”.
Many expressed their disbelief and shock, and expressed their heartfelt condolences towards Mr Camilleri's family and friends.
