RS2 Software, a major provider of payment solutions with head offices in Malta and listed on the local stock exchange, has announced the acquisition of KALICOM Liebers Zahlungssysteme KG, a successful commercial network operator for electronic, card-based payment systems in Germany.

In a company statement made on Monday 13th January, RS2 announced that KALICOM “is a perfect fit to enhance the product portfolio of RS2. The acquisition enables RS2 a quick start into the direct acquiring business with immediate capabilities of selling, installing and servicing terminals and processing card transactions in the German market for small and mid-sized accounts”.

RS2 stated that KALICOM provides it with an “attractive entry portfolio of more than 4,000 terminals and an existing merchant book”.

The company continued to say that the acquisition is in line with its “strategic shift from continuing to provide perpetual Licences of its platform to Managed Services, Merchant Acquiring Services and Issuing Services throughout Europe, the Middle East, North America, Latin America, and Asia Pacific, resulting in international growth and expansion”.

KALICOM is now a wholly owned subsidiary of RS2 Financial Services, and has been described “one of the most successful commercial network operators for electronic, card-based payment systems with several thousand payment terminals, located in Reinsdorf, Germany.”

It serves SMEs across Germany with products including POS terminals, girocard/direct debit processing, routing of credit card transactions and referral of acquiring services.

RS2 provides services and payment processing for financial institutions, processors, ISVs, Payment Facilitators and merchants in Europe, APAC, LATAM, the Middle East and North America through its single payment platform solution.

RS2 supports over 250 clients in more than 35 different countries, processing thousands of transactions per second in over 170 currencies and settling in more than 80 cross omni channel.
