Leading Malta-based payment solutions and technologies provider RS2 has appointed Gideon Fourie as its new Group Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), it announced this week.

Making the announcement as part of Malta Financial Services Authority Capital Market Rules, RS2 explained that its new appointment will bring more than 25 years of consultancy and industry experience within cards, payments and banking.

Until most recently, he held the positions of COO & CFO for Fiserv within the DACH Region. Prior to this, he led Strategic Planning and Sales Operations for Fiserv’s non-US businesses. During his time at Fiserv, he held various adjacent leadership positions including MD of First Data Austria GmbH, MD of AyCash GmbH and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Fiserv Polska S.A.

His career has also included roles at the prestigious Barclays Group, Deloitte and Standard Bank.

The German resident holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law and a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Pretoria.

Mr Fourie’s appointment comes at an exciting time for RS2 Bank, which in 2022 expects to continue to execute its strategy to deliver its planned growth, adding new countries to its client base in the Asia Pacific and Latin America regions.

The company also looks positioned to take advantage of further shifting spending habits, as consumer markets across the world move further and further towards cashless transactions – the facilitation of which, RS2 is well-placed to deliver.
