Bank of Valletta on Tuesday announced that regulatory approval has been granted for the appointment of Vanessa Borg as the bank’s Chief People and Change Officer.

Her appointment was first announced in July 2021.

Prior to joining BOV last July, she occupied the position of Director of Strategy Advisory at KPMG, a position she had occupied since 2018.

Over the years, Dr Borg has held a number of senior positions, including Chief Executive Officer with Argus Insurance and Executive Director at Consultancy and Training Acumen Centre.

She has also held senior corporate positions, from human resources to operations, within the hospitality industry.

Dr Borg holds a Doctorate in Business Administration, a Master’s in Philosophy, and a Master’s in Business Administration (all from the Maastricht School of Management), and a Bachelor of Commerce (University of Malta).

The role of Chief Human Resources Officer has changed to Chief People and Change Officer, along with industry trends, with BOV announcing the retirement of Anthony Scicluna as Chief HR Officer along with the announcement of Dr Borg’s regulatory approval.

He departs BOV after 38 years with the bank, having occupied several leadership roles.

BOV thanked Mr Scicluna “for his valid contribution to the bank” and wished him “every success in his future endeavors”.
